Activities

There is a LOT to see and do at camp! You can go here to see a map of the whole camp.

Clinics
Kids who come to summer camp get to do clinics, which are like classes on really cool things. There are clinics for rock climbing, swing dancing, gymnastics, guitar, basket making, archery, drama, ceramics, diving, and much more! We can't wait until we turn 8 and are able to participate in clinics too. For now, though, we just really like to see the performances that different clinics give every Friday. If you missed the performances, that's okay--you can always watch the videos on camp's YouTube station. Here's one that we really liked:

Program Areas
Scattered around camp are tons of really fun places to play. Fort Discovery is our favorite playground, but there are really fun ones near the Day Camp and Lake Village sites too, and if we're willing to go on a long hike to get there, the Three-House Treehouse is also really fun. We also like to go down the Black Hole, which is a really big slide. The Bullet is an ever BIGGER slide, but it's a little too fast and scary for us. Bryn and Shay really love low-ropes courses (the Optimist Challenge and the PEFCU ropes course), but Liam doesn't have good enough balance for those yet.

Games
We get to play a lot of really fun games at camp. You can play some of them at your houses or schools too, like kickball and tetherball. But others are special for camp. One of those is called Ga-Ga. It's like dodgeball, but it's played in a wooden "pit." You can learn the rules for it here. Another fun game that kids like to play at camp is called carpetball. In this game, you roll pool balls down a long table and try to knock over your opponent's ball. You can look at this site to learn the rules and even find out how to build a table like the ones we have.

Hikes
We had never been hiking before we moved to camp, but now we love to do it! Sometimes we just follow the trails to explore, but other times we go to specific destinations, like the Wolves' Den or Ghost Cabin. Mom and Dad need to carry our baby brother Aiden when we're hiking--and sometimes carry Liam too!

Water Activities
We have lots of chances to play in the water at camp! We like to build sand castles next to the lake, and you can also ride in a paddleboat or go fishing there. The campers love the rope swing and the blob, but we're not good big enough for those yet. Sometimes, when the water isn't too high, we get to go swimming in the Tippecanoe River. Last summer, we got to go on our very first float trip in a canoe down the river! Our favorite, though, is the two pools, where we can swim with Mom and Dad or with the counselors.  But until we learn to swim on our own, we know that we have to wear lifejackets or a floatie.  It's important to always review the safety rules before going in the water.
